Severe Weather Outbreak Leaves Trail of Destruction

Multiple Tornadoes Strike Area, Causing Extensive Damage

On Wednesday evening, a destructive EF-3 tornado tore through the town of Cole, Oklahoma, leaving a path of extensive damage. The tornado, accompanied by three satellite tornadoes of EF-1 strength, caused significant structural damage to buildings and infrastructure.

The supercell thunderstorms that spawned the tornadoes also produced large hail, ranging from 1 to 3 inches in diameter. At least 18 tornadoes were observed in the area, one of which resulted in a tragic loss of life.

Satellite photos of Cole before and after the tornado strike illustrate the severity of the damage. Buildings have been reduced to rubble, and entire neighborhoods have been devastated. Emergency responders are on the scene, working to rescue survivors and assess the extent of the damage.

In Cole, the tornado wreaked havoc on the Scissortail Silos, causing walls to collapse and ceilings to cave inward. Co-owner Kimber Hendrickson and community volunteers are working tirelessly to recover from the damage.

Multiple reports from spotters indicated a large cone-shaped tornado on the ground near Cole at approximately 7:42 p.m. The tornado remained on the ground for an extended period, causing significant destruction.

As the storm system continues to move through the region, additional tornadoes and severe weather are possible. Residents are urged to stay informed and follow the guidance of local authorities.
